The best view, with the best hosts, I can't wait to go back and stay longer. If what you are looking for is to disconnect and live an unforgettable experience this is the place. The hosts Ernesto and his couple are very kind, cordial and great people. A closed eye is recommended, thank you very much for everything.

Ernesto & Verena (& Chili the ridgeback) are friendly hosts. They’ve created a beautiful, clean and peaceful retreat up in the hills with a beautiful view. We were looking for a place to get away from our busy, dusty & crowded beach life further up the coast and at Casa Laureles we found the place to just rest & relax. We’ll be back!

We are hoping and wishing that we get to come back here one day. We absolutely loved it here and the owners couldn't have been friendlier, including their dog, Chilly. The room is fantastic, has a safe and a fridge. The bed is super comfy and there are loads of plugs. The mosquito netting is really of great quality and you should make sure to keep it closed on the terrace door to keep the noisy geckos out. The infinity pool is to die for. We had to have a last dip before checking out just to make the most of it. And definitely go for the breakfast! Homemade bread and jam - which is enough to convince us, but there was also lots of fruit, fresh coffee, fresh juices and eggs. Totally worth the 9 dollars per person. You will not get a better breakfast in the region. The road up is a dirt road, we had a 4x4 (but didn't have to use the 4x4 option, probably because it was dry season) and it was a shaky 45 minutes from the last asphalt road. But it is a beautiful drive and totally worth it. Bathroom is nice and spacious but has no door for privacy, fine for a couple but incase friends share the room, it is nice to know. Absolutely loved hearing the howler monkeys in the early morning. The drive to the closest beach is pretty quick, I think it was less than a 20 minute drive. It is worth filling up the gas tank at Samara before hitting the dirt road as there are no gas stations close to the Guesthouse. Totally cannot wait to go back there.

We had a lovely stay at Ernesto and his wife’s place. The location and view are breathtaking. The room was really beautiful. The breakfast was outstanding. Both of them are passionate about making your stay as nice as possible, you not only notice this in their kindness, but also in other small details around their place. We could have easily spent more time there. All an all highly recommended!

Verena and Ernesto are taking great care of their guests. Their house has best Swiss standard and an outstanding view of the surroundings and the ocean.We had a most relaxing stay and enjoyed having a chat with the hosts in the evening. Be aware that the place is a little remote and requires an AWD vehicle to get up the hill. 🙂

This place is truly a one of a kind. We struggled with loud fans, noisy ac units and couldn’t get a good night sleep anywhere in Costa Rica. We came here and slept like a baby to the sounds of nature. Local tips from our host lead to the best restaurant in all of Costa Rica - San Miguel!! The food is to die for. The pool and views were everything and more. Swimming under the stars was magical. Followed up by a great sleep and fresh fruit, eggs and bread by our host- what more could you ask for. This is something you won’t find in your lonely planet and the best kept secret!!! Would come back in a heart beat !!!

What a lovely place with a stunning view. Ernesto and his wife were amazing. We’ve had a little accident with our car, Ernesto helped us right away with it. We‘ve loved every minute up there. The room is very clean and quiet. It has everything what you need. The breakfast was very good, with self-made bread and marmalade - Yummy! Thank you both for everything (kisses to Chilli)

The place is very beautiful and has spectacular views but you must go by 4 * 4 car, with the supplies of food, gasoline and other necessary since there is nothing near the property. It is not recommended for older adults, people with some type of disability in their displacement. The pool is outside the facilities that are rented, they are on the property of the host, who is always outside observing if the use is correct, there is no privacy for its use. We are pet lovers, however they have a large dog that enters the rented facilities and we do not feel safe having two nephews of 2 and 5 years playing around since the dog was chasing them. Upon arrival, she made an inappropriate value judgment about my sister-in-law's way of driving. She knows how to drive, what she is not used to is terrain of 30 kilometers of ballast in mountains and curves. According to the host, Costa Rica is just a mountain. Certainly not a super host as qualified.
